The GE DS200DTBDG1ABB terminal relay board coupler is used to connect the EtherCAT protocol with the EtherCAT terminal module. Due to the direct communication to the last terminal module in the EtherCAT system, the coupler only converts the physical layer without changing the process data flow.


There are three different technologies to choose from:
·EtherCAT: Ultra High Speed Communication Standard
·EtherCAT P: Integrating communication and power systems into one cable

·EtherCAT G: Transmission speed can reach up to 10 Gbit/s


The difference between a coupler, topology extension module, and extension module is that an EtherCAT coupler is a "head station" located at the forefront of the terminal module segment; The topology extension module can be deployed anywhere in the EtherCAT network, thus enabling the establishment of a star topology structure; The expansion module is plugged into the end of the EtherCAT terminal module block and allows for the establishment of a linear topology structure.
