A-B 1756-RIO is a remote I/O (RIO) scanner that "translates" ControlLogix instructions into a language that older RIO networks can understand and sends them out, and then "translates" the on-site I/O status back. The core value of this module is "compatibility" and "continuity". It allows users to retain valuable on-site wiring and 1771 I/O hardware by simply upgrading controllers and racks in the control room, significantly saving on renovation costs. It can configure multiple RIO networks, each with a different logical rack.
